We're Messing With Texas!

It's been about a year since we've visited the great state of Texas, and over a year since we've been to these particular towns, but we are finally coming back to San Antonio, Houston and Austin next weekend.

Consider it a Super Bowl pre-party...we will be warming everybody up for the hysteria that will ensue on Sunday, February 7th (see below).  We're kicking things off at Casbeer's in San Antonio on Thursday, February 4th, before heading to Houston on the 5th and a return to Stubb's in Austin on February 6th.

We can't wait to get back to Texas, before heading back to New Orleans for Super Bowl Sunday and celebrating with the hometown folk.  We hope to see some old familiar faces as well as plenty of new fans at the shows.

Who Dat Think Gon' Beat Them Saints

We just wanted to let the world know that the Saints are going to the Super Bowl! (just in case you've been living under a rock)

Haiti

Unfortunately, we know firsthand the devastation caused by a natural disaster and the feeling of helplessness that can go along with that.  We need to make sure that the victims of the earthquake in Haiti and the country itself, receives all of the attention and help that we can offer ... not just now, but further down the road as well.

You can help earthquake survivors in Haiti.  To offer immediate financial support, please head to one of these organizations who are on the ground and making an immediate impact:

OXFAM:   http://www.oxfam.org.  Or you can text OXFAM to 25383 to make a one-time $10 donation to Oxfam's Haiti Earthquake Response Fund.

DOCTORS WITHOUT BORDERS:   http://doctorswithoutborders.org.

RED CROSS:   http://www.redcross.org.  Another easy way to contribute to the Haiti releif efforts is by texting HAITI to 90999 to donate $10 to the American Red Cross.  Donations will appear on your cell phone carrier bill and 100% of the donation will go towards aid to Haiti.

We're Live

Welcome to DDBB 2.0.

It has been a long time coming, but we are pleased to introduce you to our newly-redesigned official website.  We will be adding plenty of tricks and treats to the site as we dig in over the coming weeks and months, and in the meantime we wanted to let you poke around and see what is behind a few of these walls.

First, you will notice that we have launched a new direct-to-fan purchase option for the 25th Anniversary Reissue of our debut album, My Feet Can't Fail Me Now, thanks to our friends at Topspin Media.  We are giving you multiple ways to grab your copy of the album now - from a simple and immediate download of the album to a deluxe option that also includes a copy of the Reissue CD, an immediate download of the album, a gorgeous Limited Edition silkscreen poster of The Dirty Dozen Brass Band Family Tree, an immediate download of We Got Robbed (w/ bonus tracks only previously available in Japan), and three very special live shows, handpicked by the band, to be delivered to you via digital download over a three-month period.

Head on over to the CATALOG section, where you will find links to purchase other albums from the band's catalog in addition to sample streams of every piece of music released on album by the band (please note that we are still uploading portions of the catalog and this will be finished shortly).

We will be adding a bunch of pictures, both new and old to the MEDIA page, including many never before released photos from the band's archives.  This portion of the site is still being updated, so keep checking back.

And finally, we have made it easy for you to keep up with what the band is up to on the road...just sign up for our mailing list on the front page and we will keep you abreast of all of our upcoming tourdates as well as other matters that are near and dear to the band members hearts ... we promise not to bombard you with messages, as we respect your decision to pay attention to what we are doing.

Thanks for your continued support of Dirty Dozen Brass Band.  Let us know what you think!

New Year's Eve at the Soul Kitchen - Round 2

We're thrilled to be returning to the Soul Kitchen in Mobile, AL to ring in 2010.  This venue has hosted some of our favorite blowouts throughout DDBB history and we expect nothing less this time around.  Let's just consider last year's New Year's Eve performance at this very same venue a warm-up for this upcoming show.

Tickets are on sale now at the Soul Kitchen website for $18 in advance and will be $20 day of show.  We dare you to find more bang for your buck on New Years Eve....as you know, it ain't nothing but a party, y'all.
